It’s music to our ears
…The amazing soundtrack to our first feature film, Treading Water, that is.
We understand that a well-crafted soundtrack has the ability to transcend the visual elements and forge a deeper connection with the audience.
In British independent cinema, where budgets are often limited (trust us, we know!), a unique and well-composed soundtrack can be a defining element, imbuing each scene with added depth and nuance, setting the film apart from its mainstream counterparts.
Ultimately, we knew that a captivating soundtrack could elevate our British independent film to new heights, enhancing its emotional impact and ensuring that it lingers long after the credits have rolled.
This is why we were honoured and humbled to have had the pleasure of working with the phenomenally talented Dan Baboulene on creating the amazing soundtrack that he has created for us.
Dan Baboulene is a film and television composer best known for his work on Netflix’s The Art of Love (2022), Sky Movies’ Swede Caroline (2023), Eaten By Lions (2018), BBC 2’s Brexit documentaries with Laura Kuenssberg (2019) and Paul Dood’s Deadly Lunchbreak (2020.)
Dan is a BAFTA Connect Member whose awards for feature-length scores include Best Music awards at Toronto ADFF, Budapest FF, Munich FF, Los Angeles TSFF and London NRFF, to name a few!
As briefed, we had no doubt that Dan’s soundtrack would add a powerful layer to the narrative and bring extra depth to creative director Gino’s vision and script.
We’re proud to collaborate with Dan, who has brought an innovative and unique compositional voice to our script.
